Rafa Munárrizhas been selected by the Fundación Casa Wabi & ArtReviewp prize as one of the resident artists of the sixth edition of the award. The artist will be one of the invited resident artists at the Casa Wabi Residency in Puerto Escondido (Mexico), along with Nathalie Ventura and Carles Tarrassó.
The residency will take place between August and September 2024.
Since 2017, Fundación Casa Wabi and ArtReview have been carrying out the "Fundación Casa Wabi x ArtReview Open-Call Residency Price" award, which consists of an open residency for three artists or collectives interested in cross-cultural pollination and dialogue with the Casa Wabi communities in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico. Founded in 2014, Fundación Casa Wabi is a non-profit organization that promotes social development and international cultural exchange through the arts, inspired by the Japanese philosophy wabi-sabi. The residence, designed by Tadao Ando and located on the Pacific coast, offers facilities for creativity and artistic collaboration, with the aim of connecting artists and communities in a nurturing environment.
