Girbent

Girbent's new exhibition, entitled Landscapes (after Tarkovsky Polaroids), revisits the genre of landscape painting, drawing inspiration from the poetic Polaroid photographs of Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky.
The exhibition will feature five small-format paintings in which the artist reflects on the concept of painting, originality, and the phenomenon of copies. He also explores the influence of Western vs. Eastern aesthetics, the connection between traditional and contemporary art, and the impact of visual culture from other artistic genres, such as cinema, on the field of visual arts.
