Ramiro Oller will show four sculptures at Hotel Victoria Gran Meliá for Nit de l'Art 2025.
The Argentine sculptor returns to Palma with Galería Pelaires, presenting an installation that transforms the hotel into a stage for contemporary art.
Hotel Victoria Gran Meliá joins the celebration of Nit de l'Art 2025 by hosting four sculptures by Argentine artist Ramiro Oller: Anjo, Daimon, Ghabh and Trabalenguas. In collaboration with Galería Pelaires and Art Palma Contemporani, the hotel becomes one of the venues for this key event in contemporary art on the island. The strategic location of these works—installed in the hotel lobby—has been conceived to interact with the surroundings, offering visitors a unique artistic experience.
By taking part in the 29th edition of Nit de l'Art, the hotel reclaims its essence as an artistic meeting point. The exhibition pays homage to its glorious past, reviving the spirit of the Dolce Vita that once brought great figures of Mallorca and the world through its halls between the 1950s and 1970s. The installation will open on September 20, during Nit de l'Art in Palma, and will remain on view as long as the Art Palma Gallery Walks are active.
An installation in dialogue with the space
The four sculptures in this installation perfectly embody Ramiro Oller's sculptural language, which plays with abstraction and three-dimensionality. Made of brass and enamel on steel, the works mirror their surroundings and blend into the environment, sometimes seemingly disappearing. They act as a "cut-out" in space that intermittently appears and vanishes.
These four pieces stand as a true statement of intent from Oller: "A world of visual paradoxes, of transparent enigmas, of fictions of impermeability, unfolded and multiplied like figures in a mirror."
This installation reveals his vision of open and ambiguous forms that flirt with the past, modern art, and the early stages of the digital world. Ultimately, "open forms, ambiguous figures, camouflaged, play with the conventions of representation of what in the West has been called nature." An artistic play that unfolds differently in each space, offering every visitor to Hotel Victoria Gran Meliá a unique experience.
