Pelaires Cabinet is hosting the first solo exhibition of the artist Taxio Ardanaz in Mallorca. A selection of his latest works, including a large mural created expressly for the main wall of the space.
Born in Pamplona in 1978, Ardanaz's work will be featured as an installation of acrylic and spray paintings on paper placed directly on the walls of the Cabinet.
A graduate in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country, he has extended his expertise by collaborating with artists and curators such as Itziar Okariz, Esther Ferrer, Andrés Duque, Julie Mehretu, Miroslaw Balka and Peio Aguirre. Over the past years, he has worked in Italy (Royal Academy of Spain in Rome), Iraqi Kurdistan (Amna Suraka), Cuba (Artista x Artista), Austria (Kunsthaus Bregenz), Bilbao (Fundación BilbaoArte) and México (Oficina de Arte).
He has exhibited solo in Madrid (Tabacalera Promoción del Arte), Bilbao (Galería Carreras Múgica, Sala Rekalde), Havana (Artista x Artista), Ciudad de México (Ateneo Español de México), and Pamplona (El Sario, UPNA). He also recently took part in the group exhibition Complexo Colosso at CIAJG, Guimarães, Portugal.
